Jorene ("Jo") Pemble, age 84. passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024. She was born on Sept 15,1939 in Beaumont, Texas to John P. Jorden and Faithe Redman Jorden.
Jorene served and cared for many patients in her long career as a registered nurse. She graduated from Baylor University and worked in hospitals in Dallas and San Antonio. In 1977, she returned to Beaumont, accompanied by her two little boys, to begin her life calling in Pediatrics at St. Elizabeth Hospital until her retirement in 2000. Apart from her professional accomplishments, Jorene loved her Lord, her Sunday School class at Calvary Baptist Church, gardening, needlework, and the Beaumont Women's Club. She had a life-long passion for music- singing in choirs, playing the piano-even taking formal lessons again in her 60's.
She and George were avid travelers in retirement, taking many Caribbean cruises, trips across Europe, even to the South Seas and Polynesia. Jorene was generous and kind, with the gift of hospitality. Though we will miss her lovely spirit, we rejoice in the knowledge that her "faith is now sight", and she is in the presence of the One for whom she lived her life.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 35 years, George Pemble; sons Philip R. Alexander (Meredith) of Littleton, Colorado, and Dr. David W. Alexander (Meredith) of McGregor, Texas; brothers, John Jorden (Dona) of Wharton and Calvin Jorden (Melissa) of Silsbee; sisters, Betsy Brownlee of Houston, and Ginny Jorden of Silsbee. She was the proud grandmother of six-Autumn, Zachary, John, Josiah, Jacob, and Ella Kate Alexander. She also had many beloved nieces and nephews.
