Joëlle Aline Ingram

Joëlle Aline Ingram, age 80, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, at her home in Beaumont, Texas.

Born on April 20, 1945, in St. Jean de la Ruelle, France, Joëlle lived a life defined by resilience, devotion to her family, and a spirit that refused to give up even in the face of life’s greatest challenges. Joëlle was known for being stubborn in the best way. She was strong-willed, determined, and full of grit, but also had a huge heart. Her honesty was unmistakable. She could be blunt, but it always came from a place of love. If she spoke, you knew it was honest and sincere. Family was everything to Joëlle. She built her life around the people she loved, and nothing brought her more joy than time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. When her grandchildren were young, she would lovingly sing French songs like “Alouette” and “Frère Jacques,” creating memories that will live on forever. She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed word search puzzles, playing her lottery scratch tickets, and spending time outdoors watching sunsets, butterflies, and hummingbirds.

Joëlle’s life was marked by extraordinary strength and perseverance. After the unexpected loss of her husband, she raised her three children as a single mother, providing them with love, guidance, and stability. Later in life, after 50 years of smoking, she made the courageous decision to quit cold turkey following a lung cancer diagnosis, and she beat it. She overcame many health challenges with determination. When faced with a second cancer diagnosis, she continued to fight bravely until the very end. As a young girl, Joëlle loved to sing, but a severe case of whooping cough affected her ability to continue. Even so, her love for music lived on in the songs she shared with her family. Her life was also a story of love and adventure. While working for the American Army in France, she met the love of her life, Joseph Ingram, an American soldier stationed there. They were married in France before moving to the United States to build their life together.

She is survived by her siblings Annick Shinn, Alice Narcisse, and Alain Ridard; her children Frank Ingram and wife Carole Anne, Nicole Davis and husband Johnny, and Michelle Morris and husband Gerald.

She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Joshua Davis and husband Thomas, Ashley Davis-Garza and husband Alex, Kimberly Hebert and husband Logan, Brittney Ingram, Brandon Ingram, Macy Ingram, and Presley Ingram; and her great-grandchildren Noah, Aubree, and Parker Davis-Garza, Eleanor (Ellie) Hebert, and Cason Ingram.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Ingram; her parents Jean Emile Ridard and Andree Alexine Ridard; and her siblings Yvon Ridard, Jocelyne Ridard, and Herve Ridard.

Joëlle will be remembered as a fighter, a devoted mother and grandmother, and a woman whose love ran deep. Her legacy lives on in the strength she passed down, the traditions she created, and the love she gave so freely.
