John Dodd Burrow, age 71, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024. He was born on April 2, 1953, in Beaumont, TX, to Obie Monroe and Dorothy “Dot” Fuseling Burrow.
Everything that he was, made Douglas, Douglas. He was a man whose life was filled with friendship, loyalty, and love. He was a likeable soul, always surrounded by friends and steadfastly loyal to those he held dear. His character and values truly defined him; he was a good man. In June 1988, he met the love of his life, Susan, and they shared a beautiful, 36-year marriage, falling in love at first sight. Their connection was instantaneous and enduring, as if they were destined to be together. A talented cook, Douglas had a passion for BBQ and made exceptional fried fish, among other beloved dishes. His culinary skills were cherished by family and friends alike. Professionally, he worked as a pipefitter with the Pipefitters Local Union 195 and retired in 2017 after a distinguished career. Douglas Burrow's life was a testament to loyalty, love, and passion. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be dearly missed but always remembered for the warmth and friendship he brought to everyone he encountered.
Left to honor his memory is his beloved wife, Susan Culpepper Burrow; son, John Shane Burrow; daughter, Julia Burrow; brother, Billy Burrow and wife, Karen Racca; grandchildren, Jamie Burrow and Jermaine Burrow; as well as host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.
Preceding John in death are his parents, 7 brothers, and 2 sisters.
