John Wilton Beard

John Wilton Beard, 97, of Lumberton, TX, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. He was born on June 25, 1929, in Broaddus, TX to James Beard and Katy Wells.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Mickey Beard; grandchildren, Christy Alkire and husband, Samuel and Adam Beard; great-grandchildren, Jonahs Beard, London Alkire, Rowan Alkire, and Blake Beard; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.

Preceding John in death is his wife, Ila Jane Beard; and parents, James Arthur Beard and Katy Wells; brothers, Orvis Beard, Nelson Beard, and Tilton Beard.

Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S Main St. Graveside services will be Monday, September 21, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m., at Broaddus Cemetery in Broaddus, TX.
