Joginder Singh

Joginder Singh, 84, of Beaumont, TX, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026. He was born on November 5, 1941, in Lahore, Pakistan, to Sardar Sant Singh and Surjit Kaur.

Faith and family were two pillars that shaped every choice, every sacrifice, and every joy he carried. A devoted Sikh, his days were guided by his devotion to Waheguru, and he moved through the world with the calm certainty of a man anchored in something sacred.

Born in Punjab, Joginder arrived in America on October 14, 1978, with his wife, two daughters, and almost nothing to his name. What he built from those humble beginnings was extraordinary: a life defined not by what he lacked, but by what he gave. Through hard work and a dedication to providing for those he loved, he created a home filled with warmth. Though he once had little, he was endlessly generous; gracious in spirit, open-handed in kindness, and always ready to lift others up.

Jog was precise in everything that he did. He was always on time, always prepared, and he encouraged others to carry themselves with the same respect for discipline. Yet beneath that structure was a man full of life, joyful and deeply believing in the goodness of people. His temper, if it ever appeared, lasted no more than five minutes. He believed in being happy.

Jog met his beloved wife on the day of their wedding, and from that moment forward, they were completely in love, often reminding his family, “me and her are forever, ever, ever.” Their partnership was a testament to the kind of love that becomes a legacy.

Jog had many gifts. He was a better cook than even his wife, and his chicken curry was something special, with his daughters getting excited whenever they heard Dad was cooking. He was a master card player, spending countless hours competing with his grandchildren and children. He loved animals, delighted in fresh fruit, and took pride in dressing sharply, always neat, always clean.

One of his greatest dreams was to build a local Gurdwara for his faith and community, a dream he lived to see fulfilled, a testament to his devoted perseverance, and belief in living for others. Joginder departed this world blessed, passing peacefully on land owned by his family, surrounded by loved ones; and will be honored by a funeral held on land owned by family. His life was full; his love was steadfast; his presence was a gift. And his memory will continue to guide those who were fortunate enough to be loved by him.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Manjit Singh; daughters, Rani Akhtar and husband, Jeff Akhtar of Beaumont, TX, and Noni Bakshi of Knoxville, TN; sister, Swaran Kaur of New Jersey; brothers, Rajinder Singh and wife Surinder Kaur of Lake Charles, LA, Harbhajan Singh and wife Jaspal Kaur of New Jersey, Balwart Singh of Alabama, Satnam Singh and wife Balbir Kaur of Beaumont, TX, and Harjinder Singh and wife Gursharon Kaur of California; grandchildren, Amber Akhtar and husband David Martisek of Friendswood, Ashlyn Akhtar-Bieganowski and husband, Zachary Bieganowski of Houston, Amron Sultan Akhtar of Dubai, Aron Akhtar of Dubai, Akshay Bakshi of Knoxville, and Arjan Bakshi of Knoxville; and a host of friends and family.

Preceding Joginder in death are his parents.
