Jodie Beard

Jodie Beard, age 59, of Lumberton, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024. She was born in Nederland, TX, on January 7, 1965, to Charles and Jo Ann Beard.

Jodie enjoyed the little things in life, like curling up on the couch with a good book. She truly loved to read, a bit of a history buff, especially enjoying the Civil War Era. Jodie was presented with the Christian caricature award her senior year. She was lovingly baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit when she was 9 years old and has been devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ ever since. She loved her family and friends very much and she will be missed. 

Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Jo Ann Beard; daughter, Lauren Hope Smith; brother, Steve C. Beard and wife, Kristi; niece, Cheyenne N. Beard; nephew, Bradley S. Beard; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Jo Ellen was preceded in death by her father, Charles M. Beard; and  her grandparents, Raymond and Evelyn Bramer, and Emmett and Doris Beard.
