Jimmy Rossi Obituary

Jimmy William Rossi, 70, of Lumberton passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021. Jimmy was born in Beaumont on February 28, 1951, to Charles Rossi and Ethel Rutledge.

Jimmy was not a man of many words, but his love and strength ran deeper than most ever knew; an utter devotion to his beloved wife of 46 years was definitely the most prominent of these. June Alice Rossi met Jimmy when he was still brawling and running wild, her love would help make Jimmy into the man his grandbabies would call PawPaw and the father who never stopped loving and providing for his children. Jimmy was a resourceful and hard working man, always making sure that his family was provided for and turning what always seemed like not enough into enough for them. Caring to the core, Jimmy would help anyone who needed it but was not quick to outwardly show his needs or struggles to others. Private and resilient, Jimmy kept his long battle with cancer private until the very end only emphasizing his “clean yourself up and then come back in here” approach to life. A mentor to many over the years and a friend to countless, Jimmy’s many interests in life afforded him the ability to know so many over his 70 years. A motorcycle lover- of Harley’s in particular- Jimmy had an ever growing collection of Harley shirts that he loved to wear. Today Jimmy is in a place of no more pain and sharing in the joy of being reunited with those he loved so dearly that have gone on before him. But the quick wit and stoic man that was Jimmy will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Jennifer Lynn Quick and husband Kevin of Lumberton, and Jessica Rossi of Queen City; his sister, Ann Fornsworth and husband Don of Little Elm; his grandchildren, Brayden Ruiz, Kyla Quick, Gabi Gonzalez, and Clinton Wooding.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Lawrence Rossi and Ethel Rutledge; Aunt Aline and Uncle Donald Gates; his beautiful wife June Alice Rossi; and his niece, Michelle White; his siblings, Rosemary Hailey, Allen “Bubba” Rossi, and Charles “Butch” Rossi.

A memorial service honoring Jimmy’s life will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 beginning at 6:00PM at Grace Church, N 1130 HWY 69 Kountze, TX 77625.
