Jimmy Job Linn

Dr. Jimmy Job Linn, age 60, of Wildwood, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026. He was born on October 19, 1965, in Lubbock, TX.

Tough in spirit yet tender, he walked through life with the quiet confidence of a man who knew his purpose. Whether he was sharing the Gospel or simply showing up when someone needed him, Jimmy lived every day as a testimony to his faith in the Lord. He was unmistakably himself, often dressed as a cowboy, boots and all, carrying a presence that was both strong and welcoming. Gifted in conversation, he could talk his way out of a hole, and often into a friendship. Ministry wasn’t just his calling; it was the theme of his life. Jimmy met the love of his life, Cristi, while they were both students at Texas Tech University. They married on December 29, 1990, beginning a union that would span 35 wonderful years. Together they built a home filled with faith and love and were blessed with three children who became the center of Jimmy’s world. No matter what he was doing or where life took him, his family always came first. They received the best from him, even when it meant he went without. A dedicated pastor, Jimmy faithfully shepherded three congregations: Nogales Baptist Church in Nogales, Arizona; Utopia Baptist Church in Utopia, Texas; and Wildwood Baptist Church in Village Mills, Texas. His ministry touched countless lives, and his passion for sharing the Gospel never wavered. He continued to deepen his understanding of Scripture throughout his life, earning his Master of Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry in Biblical Studies. He was a skilled fisherman, a violinist, and a tennis and basketball player. Yet once his children arrived, every hobby, every pursuit, and every spare moment bent toward them. He poured himself into fatherhood. His was a life lived for God and for others. His impact will continue to echo in many hearts.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 35 years, Cristi Linn of Wildwood, TX; mother, Abisue Ramos Linn of Lubbock, TX; mother-in-law, Janice Howerton and fiancé, Cowboy James; brother, Richard Monroe Linn III and wife, Diane of Abilene, TX; children, Laramie Bo Linn and wife, Abbie of Longview, TX, Landry R. Linn and wife, Macy of Wildwood, TX, and Makayla R. Laird and husband, Caden of Kountze, TX; grandchildren, Jett Bo Linn, Collins Cate, and Palmer Reese; sisters-in-law, Zane Williams and husband, Sid of San Antonio, TX and Fonn Lee and husband, James of Rockwall, TX; nephews and nieces, Ricky Linn, Rebecca Linn, Matthew Linn, Jamie Dippner and husband, Jereme, Johnston Williams and wife, Shyla, Jeffrey Williams and fiancée, Monique, Jade Williams, Jocie Browne and husband, Austin, Jacob Williams, Aaron Lee and Carson Lee; great nephews and nieces, Cache, Seis, Paisley, Selah, Luke, Bella, and Shiloh; many family members from the Ramos Familia, and many, many friends!

Preceding Jimmy in death is his father, Richard “Bo” Monroe Linn Jr.; and nephews, Kevin Linn, and Brandon Lee.

Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at Happy Valley Church, 3435 Hwy 418 W, Kountze, TX 77625. Jimmy's life honoring funeral service will be Friday, March 13, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m., at Happy Valley Church with Bro. Robert Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery.
