Jennifer Cooper Gonzales

Jennifer Diane Gonzales, age 47, of Lumberton, TX, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2025. She was born on February 28, 1978, in Houston, TX, to Arthur and Kathy Trueblood Cooper.

To know Jenny was to be embraced by kindness, uplifted by laughter, and gently nudged toward your better self by someone who saw the person, not their circumstances, but their character. Her smile was more than an expression, it spoke of compassion, understanding, and a quiet strength that made others feel seen and safe. With her signature blend of intelligence and gentle humor, Jenny had a way of offering advice that was said just sweetly enough to not feel like correction. She was the kind of person who could steer others in the right direction with a subtle suggestion and a knowing grin. Jenny was original in every sense, unapologetically herself, delightfully quirky, and deeply thoughtful. She had a gift for friendship, one that came with unconditional love and, occasionally, a playful sentence to “friendship jail” when you needed a moment to reflect. Yet her heart was too generous to hold a grudge for long. She forgave easily, loved fiercely, and made everyone feel like they belonged. Her greatest joy was her family, and her heart beat strongest for her beloved son, Carter. Jenny poured her soul into motherhood, nurturing Carter with devotion, pride, and affection. He was her most cherished blessing. Jenny’s absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but her spirit lives on in every act of kindness, every shared laugh, and every memory of her sweet smile. She taught us that love is a verb, friendship is sacred, and joy is something you give away freely. She was truly special. And though she’s no longer her in body, Jenny will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones.

Left to honor her memory is her son, Carter Glenn Gonzales; brothers, Jammie Dewayne Cooper and wife, Heather Celeste and Michael Glenn Cooper and wife, Amy Renee; nieces, Kaylee Aaron Alexander, Hannah Renee Cooper and significant other, Madison Lee McFarland, and Blakely Lynn Cooper; nephews, Gavin Dewayne Cooper and wife,  Jacqueline Marie and Keegan Layne Alexander; grandnephew, Beaux Dewayne; grandniece, Aspen Alice; as well as many other loved ones and friends.

Preceding Jennifer in passing are her parents.

Jennifer’s life honoring funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9th, 2025, beginning at 2:00 p.m., at Grace Church, 1130 Hwy 69, Kountze, TX 77625.
