Jean Pierre Henry

Jean Pierre Henry, age 56, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024. He was born on December 2, 1968, in Beaumont, TX, to John Truman and Sharon Viator Henry.

A man whose life was defined by his unyielding love for his family and his unwavering faith in the Lord, Pierre lived simply, ensuring that those he loved were always provided for. Though ornery at times, he was a man of integrity, never resorting to lies, theft, or cheating. Pierre cherished deep, heartfelt conversations, finding joy in connecting with others. His guiding principle in every decision was to "let the Lord lead on," a testament to his steadfast faith. He held his mother's wisdom in the highest regard, listening to and cherishing every word she said. A proud practitioner of "Coonass ingenuity," Pierre's creativity knew no bounds. He enjoyed crafting contraptions and inventions, riding his motorcycles, raising chickens, and bass fishing. When it came to work, he was a true working son of a gun, putting his all into every task. As an amateur culinary artist, Pierre's cooking was renowned for his special ingredients, needing no recipe. However, he always followed his mother's cherished spaghetti and meatball recipe. His close relationship with the Lord was evident in his dedication to reading the Bible and living by its teachings. Pierre's life was a tapestry of love, faith, and ingenuity. His legacy of devotion, creativity, and hard work will be remembered and cherished by all who were fortunate to know him. He leaves behind a family who loved him dearly and will miss him profoundly, carrying his memory in their hearts forever.

Left to honor his memory is his son, Jean Pierre Henry, II and wife, Perez; mother, Sharon Henry; brothers, Eugene “Johnny” Odom and John Truman “J.T.” Henry Jr.; sister, Denise Hanson; brut’n-law, Brannon Hanson; grandson, Jean Pierre “J.P.” Henry the "Turd"; close cousin, Josh Savoy; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.

Preceding Jean in death are his father; and daughter, Alicia Michelle Henry.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., at Lumberton Family Funeral Home. Jean’s life honoring funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 21, 2024, also at the funeral home, with Pastor Phil Weatherford officiating.
