Jasper Curtis Stanley

Jasper Curtis Stanley, age 80, of Orange, TX, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023. He was born on September 13, 1943, in Starks, LA, to Willie Stanley and Pearl Bass Stanley.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Jasper Curtis Stanley Jr and wife Cathy of Norwich, Connecticut, Brent Ray Stanley and wife Michelle of Danielson, Connecticut; daughters Ramona Duhame and husband Daniel of Lafayette, LA, Denna Stanley of Mauriceville, TX, Jacqueline Cook and husband James of Westerly, Rhode Island; step-daughter Twyla George and husband Andrew of Lumberton, TX; brother Edgar Stanley and wife Martha; sisters Frankie Brandon, Carrie Belle Williams, and Martha Marie Johnson; grandchildren, Samantha Ann, Meaghan, Ashley, Kandice, Callie, Dustin, Monique, Samantha, Leena, Braedan, Ben, and Kaylee; 9 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

Preceding Jasper in death is his wife Grace Ann, his parents, stepsons Sidney Benjamin Griggs, and Joseph Lee Griggs Jr., brothers Charlie Stanley, Edsel Ray Stanley, and Luther Stanley; sisters, Ora Lee Stanley, Thelma Idell Stanley, Willie Mae Statum, and Gladys Perkins.

Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Starks Pentecostal Church. Jasper’s life honoring funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m., also at Starks Pentecostal Church, officiated by Bro. Karl Smith. Interment will follow at Trout Creek Cemetery in Kirbyville, TX.
