Jared Freeman Obituary

Jared Marrelle Freeman passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2020, at 30 years of age.  He was born into his loving family April 3, 1990, in Beaumont, TX to Gail Day-Russell and Kerry Freeman.  Jared is the oldest of their three children.
Jared was born with Cerebral Palsy and multiple disabilities, but he never let that stop him. He was a fighter, he fought to make it into this world, and fought even harder to stay.  He was a joy to all who met him; some would call him a flirt, especially with all of his nurses. Jared had a bright smile and a contagious laugh, that had a special effect on anyone who came in contact with him.
He loved singing along to music, watching SpongeBob SquarePants, and playing jokes on his family. He was really a prankster, from “Playing Possum” to holding his breath or pinching oxygen hoses closed until alarms went off, he was always trying to get others to laugh or eventually cracking himself up.
Jared taught everyone who met him what faith, tenacity, and unconditional love meant. Although he could not talk, He could communicate! One look from Jared and you knew that you should not have turned off that episode of SpongeBob, but with that same face he could let you know that he really loved and cared for you. “J-Man” will be deeply missed by all the people whose lives he has touched, and we all find peace knowing he is running around and talking up a storm in heaven, in a way that he was never able to do here on earth.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents Kerry and Judy Freeman, Gail and Robert Russell; his sisters Sarah and Kacie Freeman; Stepsisters Christina Shaffer, and husband Steven, Tara Byers and husband Matt, Hailee Russell, Carlee Russell; Grandfather Douglas “Pop-Pop” Day; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Marrelle "Tap" and Elvie "Annette" Freeman, his grandmother Sarah "Sally" Day and Aunt Donna Freeman.
To honor Jared's life, there will be a celebration of life in North Richland Hills, TX on Tuesday, September 1, 2020, from 4:00PM until 8:00PM.  A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, from 7:00PM - 9:00PM  at Lumberton Family Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow soon after at Baker-Bell Cemetery, CR 4600 Warren, TX 77664.
