Janie Oliver Obituary

Janie Lou Oliver, 88, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020.

Janie was born on January 26, 1932 in Luling, TX to Albert Boyett and Johnnie Boyett.

Janie Lou met the love of her life, James, while on a date, but not with each other. The story is told over and over that they were holding hands under the table. However, the story does not end there. They were married for 61 years when James passed away in 2008. A true Titus woman in every sense of the word, she loved deeply, cared deeply, and made it her life’s mission to take care of everyone. Nana, as she was lovingly called, babysat in her home for over 20 years; shaping small children and getting them ready for life. Feeding them not only with food and love but also with the love of the Lord. Nana raised many children. She taught them to walk, talk, and even potty trained them when the parents were having a hard time. Janie loved her family with an unstoppable fierceness. She took care of them, big or small and never stopped worrying about them. She also believed that she could make all the bad go away, and sometimes she just did. From her blue plaid healing couch to her gentle touch, she loved unconditionally. Janie loved her church family at Praise. She loved to get to church on Sunday and Monday for the Clothes Closet. Janie will truly be missed by everyone her life has touched. From her children, to her grandchildren, to her great- grandchildren, her sisters, nieces and nephews, and all the countless people that she has impacted in her life. We love you mom and will miss you terribly.

A special thank you to the staff at Pine Arbor. We could not have asked for better care for our mom. Also, a special thank you to Deidra with Heart of Texas Hospice for always making sure she smelled wonderful. Thank you, Heart of Texas Hospice, you made a difference.
