Janie Lockeman Obituary

Janie Salazar Lockeman, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2023, at the age of 67 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.

Born on October 17, 1955, in Houston, TX, Janie was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many. Her warm heart, kind spirit, and unwavering love were evident to all who knew her. Janie had a radiant smile that could light up any room and a gentle demeanor that made everyone feel comfortable in her presence.

Janie was a devoted wife to her loving husband, Michael Paul Lockeman, with whom she shared a deep bond and a lifetime of cherished memories after 35 years of marriage.

Janie was also a nurturing mother to her two sons, John Brian Salazar and Alex Michael Lockeman, and two daughters, Leslie Salazar Ibarra and Erin Noel Lockeman. She adored her children and dedicated her life to their well-being and happiness. Janie's unwavering love and support shaped the lives of her children, and they will forever carry her spirit with them.

Aside from her role as a mother, Janie also found joy and fulfillment in being a grandmother. She loved her grandchildren dearly and relished in the precious moments spent with them. Janie created lasting memories by sharing her wisdom, love, and laughter with the younger generation, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.

Whether it was cooking delicious meals for her loved ones or cheering on her Astros or Red Wings, Janie found solace and fulfillment in the simple pleasures of life.

Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Janie's love, kindness, and unwavering support will continue to guide and inspire her family and friends. Although she may no longer be with us in physical form, her spirit will forever be present, reminding us of the beauty of a well-lived life and the importance of cherishing our loved ones.

Janie Salazar Lockeman is survived by her loving husband, Michael Paul Lockeman; her children, Leslie Salazar Ibarra and husband, Miguel; John Brian Salazar and wife, Heather; Alex Michael Lockeman, Erin Noel Lockeman; her grandchildren, Jesse Elijah Soria, John Michael Salazar, Faith Angel Ibarra and Andrew Angel Ibarra; and numerous extended family members and friends who were blessed to have known her.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 17, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at Lumberton Family Funeral Home. Celebration of life will begin at 7:30 p.m., June 17, 2023, at Lumberton Family Funeral Home.

Janie's soul has found eternal peace, and may her loved ones find comfort in knowing she is seated at HIS table.
