Janice Gallier Obituary

Janice Lynn Gallier, age 64, of Lumberton, TX, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. She was born on October 21, 1960, in Beaumont, TX to James Samuel and Mary Sauls Tucker.

She lived life as a flame: brilliant, untamed, and impossible to ignore. A devoted person and loyal friend, Janice’s life was a story of love, laughter, and bold authenticity. To know Janice was to be pulled into her atmosphere of joy and spontaneous adventure. Whether she was playing dominoes or winning hands in blackjack, she enjoyed games and the competition. After the tragic loss of her beloved husband, Rodger, she poured herself into their three daughters. Her love for them was boundless and unwavering, and they became the heart of everything she did. Janice had the rare gift of making every moment memorable. Her words, sharp, unfiltered, and often hilarious, could stop you in your tracks. No one ever quite knew what she’d say next, but it was always the truth, delivered with sincerity. Stubborn in her beliefs but gracious in conversation, she was a listener as much as she was a firecracker. Even as her health began to slow her body, her spirit never lost its spark. She remained open to the world, always up for a new experience, and ever ready to offer her perspective with charm and honesty. Her faith grounded her; she was a believer with a light that never dimmed. Janice leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unshakeable courage. Her energy filled every room, and her memory will fill every heart lucky enough to have known her. She was one of a kind, and she will be deeply missed.

Left to honor her memory are her daughters, Lacy Gallier Brown and husband, J.D., Heather Rená Gallier Rhodes and husband, Keffer, and Holly Michelle Gallier; mother, Mary Tucker; sisters, Cathey Leon Browning and husband, Dennis, and Barbara Rená Shepherd and husband, Keith; grandchildren, Amelia Beth Brown and Samuel Dale Rhodes; her fur baby, Kitty Puss; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Preceding Janice in passing is her father, James “Sammy” Tucker; and husband, Rodger Dale Gallier.
