Jane Susan Kirk, age 80, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024. She was born on May 12, 1944, in Beaumont, TX, to Robert and Nellie Hall McCelland.
A devoted mother whose life was a testament to hard work, faith, and love, Jane tirelessly provided for her children, instilling in them the importance of trusting and following the Lord. A true fighter, she passed on her indomitable spirit to her son and daughter. Jane was a reflective soul, journaling her thoughts on life, the world, and her faith. Her home was always open to cats, but none held a place in her heart like her beloved "Rocky." Known for her caring nature, she was a source of advice, conversation, and encouragement for loved ones. She believed in living a healthy lifestyle, making cranberry juice and water her daily staples, and encouraging others to adopt the same habits. To her beloved son-in-law, Jane undoubtedly made the world's best tuna fish sandwich. “Mimi” or “Grandma” was blessed and thankful for the blessing of five grandchildren. Her legacy of love, faith, and resilience will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, carried forward by the lessons and love she so generously shared.
Left to honor her memory are her children, Sam Kirk and wife, Lisa of Onalaska, TX and Karla Pipes and husband, Darryl of Silsbee, TX; sister, Ginger Hay of Donnellson, IL; grandchildren, Rene Pipes of Beaumont, TX, Travis Pipes of Nederland, TX, Penelope Semanario and husband, Andres of Puyallip, WA, Leland Kirk of Onalaska, TX, and Ella Kirk of Onalaska, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and loved ones.
Preceding Jane in death are her parents; brother, Robert “Bob” McCelland and wife, Elizabeth; and sisters, Verna Ashworth and husband, Weldon, Betty Stripling and husband, Grady, and Doris Langston and husband Dempcy.
