James Edward Thomas Goodman, 59, of Lumberton, TX passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born on May 13, 1963, to James Henry Thomas Goodman and Shirley Annette (Michael)Goodman.
James lived his life to the fullest doing the things that he loved most. As his father before him, James devoted many days and countless hours to his passion of stock car racing, driving his beloved Camaro at the Silsbee Dirt Track. Later in life, he found joy in the time spent with his close friends, often with simple conversation, having a laugh, or shooting pool at a favorite local establishment. Loving, loveable and gregarious, he was often the life of a party. His skills in his trade of painting were honed to perfection, working for the family business, Goodman Paint. His work was a representation of his attention to detail, and he found peace in a finished job that was smooth and without fault or flaws. Loved by his family, cherished by his friends, James’ memory will be forever cherished and fondly remembered.
Left to honor his memory is his sister Pamela Weatherford and husband, Steve, of Lumberton; dear friend and nephew, Joshua Weatherford and wife, Jean, of Sour Lake; and an innumerable host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.
Preceding James in death are his parents and brother, Mark Goodman.
Visitation for friends and family will be on Thursday, August 18, 2022, from 5:00p.m. to 7: 00p.m, at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S. Main St., Lumberton, TX. James’ life honoring graveside service will be on Friday, August 19, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Leatherwood Cemetery, Loeb, TX.
