James Caissey Obituary

James (Jim, Jimmy) Joseph Caissey, 67, died 28th November 2018 at his home in Beaumont, Texas after a short illness. Funeral services are yet to be determined.

James was born on 27th September, 1951 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and adopted by Louis Joseph and Gertrude Ann Caissey.  He worked for Warm Springs hospital in 1972, Anaconda smelter from 1974-1980, and finally as a home healthcare provider.

Friends and family knew Jim’s lifelong passions for animals. Jim always had dogs or other animals in his life, be they birds, snakes, rabbits, or cats, Jim loved and cared for them all. He also loved flowers and plants, as well minerals, gemstones, and other geological formations.

Jim was a seeker of knowledge and was an avid reader, as well as the family historian. You could always count on Jim to know the family details from his life in Minnesota, Oregon, and Montana where he lived prior to Texas.

One of Jim’s favorite places in the world was Galveston beach and often camped there with friends. It wasn’t uncommon to see pictures of sunrises and sunsets from his times in Galveston posted on multimedia.

Jim was a spirited, loving, passionate, and a compassionate man. He lived his life the way he wanted, with good food, good company, and good times.  We hold our memories of Jim close and take solace in the fact that he is now at rest with his much beloved Mother and Father.

He is survived by three sons: Justin, Joshua, and Jared, thirteen grandchildren: Jedidiah, Megan, Zackery, Kaylee, Layna, Alyson, Camdynn, Jamison, Huntley, Dias, Kayne, Alyssa, and Jaidyn, as well as six siblings: Karen, Geri Ann, Louis, Margaret, Edmond, and Jamie.
