James Leon Armstrong Sr., 89, of Lumberton, TX, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. Leon was born into this world on August 3, 1934 in Buna, TX to parents James Emmet Armstrong and Mary Ann (Curry) Armstrong.
Leon was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish. He always was a happy person with a smile and a helping hand to others. Leon had this calming effect and was very good with dogs, being able to train them with ease. Leon was a great father, loving husband, and most of all proud to be a Paw paw. He had this loving heart and made you feel special, Leon you will be missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, JL Armstrong Jr. and his wife Christine, and Rosalind Lea Green and husband Rodney; grandchildren, Trevor Armstrong, and Tanner Armstrong and wife Kristen; and great grandchildren, Colton Lane Armstrong, and Kimber Marie Armstrong; and numerous extended family.
Those who have passed on before, both of his parents, his loving wife Edna Mae Armstrong, a sister Barbara Ann Bridges, and a baby brother Jack Armstrong.
