Harvey Allen Johnson, age 84, of Vidor, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 18, 2024. He was born in Dallas County, TX, on August 2, 1939, to Loyd Johnson and Myrtle Arnold Johnson.
Harvey married the love of his life, Linda Burch, on October 8, 1956, and to this union were three children. He worked for PPG as a train, barge, and ship inspector, and was supervisor and trainer when he retired. Harvey loved to fish and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the grandkids. When the kids and grandkids were younger, they would road trip and sometimes RV to state and federal parks with the family. Yellowstone National Park wasn’t his last trip, but it was his most favorite place to go, and he went as much as he could. Harvey and Linda have been faithful members of the First Baptist Church Vidor for 40 Years.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Linda Johnson; brother, Eddie Johnson; children, Tommy Johnson and Robynn Zimmerman, Teresa Presson, and Tammy Hatfield and husband Alan; grandchildren, April Cassady and husband Greggory, Whitney Clayton and husband John, Terry Presson, Eli Presson and Juanita Gonzalez, Tiffany Hatfield, Kaylee Hatfield, Madison Holsomback and husband Nich; 9 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Francis Hilliard and Marsha Wysong; and brothers, Loyd Franklin Johnson Jr. “Tiny”, and Jerry Johnson.
