Gregory Wayne Havard Sr.

Gregory Wayne Havard Sr, 70, of Jasper, TX, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, April 9, 2026. He was born November 15, 1955, in Beaumont, TX, to Mildred Haynes Havard and Charles Monroe Havard.

With a generous and contrite heart, he ensured others knew that his love was always there. If he had something that was needed, he gave it. Material things held little value to him, and while he could be hardheaded, he was funny and enjoyed bringing joy to others. After graduating from Buna High School in 1974, he joined the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 450 as a heavy equipment operator. Affectionately known as “Boogs”, he appreciated the outdoors, hunting squirrels from his youth. In his later life, he spent many hours on the water, both alone and with company. Being on or near a body of water and sitting by a campfire brought him peace. He lived life on his own terms. But he always wanted you to know that he loved you & appreciated what you did for him when you tried to help him. Some of the things Greg would say to those that knew his heart and that he loved were... "Take care of those that take care of you." and "I love you...You can believe that!”

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Grandparents and many other family members. 

He is survived by his son, Gregory Wayne Havard, Jr. and wife Andrea; Daughter, Angela Danyel Doyle and husband Aaron; Sister, Laurie Havard Smith and husband Vicky Dale; Grandchildren, Colby Tyler Havard, and Hunter Blake Havard and numerous other bonus grandchildren. He held a special place in his heart for his nephews, Chuck and Chad Havard & Destin Smith. Also, numerous cousins, extended family, and “inherited sons” Ron Lewis and Jerry Wayne Denny.

Greg's life honoring memorial service will be Saturday, April 18, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m., at Abba's House, 1012 N Main St, Lumberton, TX 77657.
