Gerald Joe “Jerry” Redden Sr., 87, of Lumberton, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. Jerry was born in Beaumont, Tx on December 16, 1936, to parents Paul Joe Redden and Grace Margaret (Herndon) Redden.
A graduate of South Park High, Jerry joined the United States Navy working as a dental assistant. After his honorable discharge, he served for a short period of time as a Beaumont police officer. Later, he owned and operated Paul’s Bookstore of Beaumont.
Jerry loved to be outdoors and would spend his free time hunting and fishing. He enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino, and he loved watching all sports, especially golf and tennis. Jerry was a loving husband and father, a hard worker who could always be counted on. He will remain in the hearts of those who loved him and be dearly missed.
Left to cherish her memory are his wife, Patricia; sons, Steven Paul Redden and Gerald Joe Redden Jr.; daughters, Mary Katherine Novak and husband, Andy, and Sharon Sue Gerald and husband, Tim; sister, Frances Akhtari; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter-in-law, Cecilia A Redden.
