George Baker Obituary

In Loving Memory of George Washington Baker
George Washington Baker, 84, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, service, laughter, and devotion to his family.
George was born on February 22, 1942, in Jasper County, Texas, to George Baker and Gladys Maxine Simpson. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of Sergeant from 1967 to 1969.
Following his military service, George built an extraordinary career spanning decades in the pipeline and welding industries. He worked throughout the United States and internationally, including England, Scotland, the Shetland Islands, New Zealand, Africa, and India. He also owned and operated ETOC Contracting, where he helped build compressor stations and completed numerous pipeline projects. His dedication, skill, and strong work ethic earned him the respect of coworkers and friends alike.
George was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Baker, who passed away in 2022.

He is survived by his loving son, Lawrence Baker; his brother, Rodney Baker; his sisters, Joyce Anne Martin and Carolyn Head; along with extended family and friends who will cherish his memory.
Outside of work, George enjoyed spending time fishing on Rayburn Lake, where he found peace in nature and treasured moments with those he loved. He was also known for his great sense of humor, always ready with a joke, a smile, or a witty remark that could brighten the day of those around him. His laughter and ability to make others smile will be remembered just as fondly as his strength and dedication.
George will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his pride in serving his country, his remarkable craftsmanship, his warm heart, and the joy he brought to others. His life was one of service, perseverance, integrity, and love, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
May he rest in eternal peace.
