Gaye Kettl Obituary

Floy Gaye Kettl, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Gaye was born on September 22, 1946, in San Augustine, TX, to Floyd Torres and Clydie Snell.

A true artist and passionate soul, she left her loved ones with a legacy of sweetness and an open heart. Her life was a harmony of unconditional love, acceptance, and creativity. Gaye's welcoming nature embraced everyone without judgment or pretense. Her heart was forever joined with that of her late husband, Charles. From the moment their love story began, Charles treated her like a princess, doting on her and supporting every endeavor she pursued. Their love was a testament to unwavering devotion and partnership. A long-time Coca-Cola drinker, Gaye was never without her favorite beverage. Her creative spirit flourished in many forms, including amateur floristry, potpourri making, avid scrapbooking, and ardent photography. Each of these passions showcased her dedication and talent, bringing beauty and joy to those around her. Above all, Gaye was a cherished "Nanny" to her beloved grandchildren. She was full of life, love, and warmth, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Gaye's memory will forever be a beacon of love and creativity. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Left to honor her memory are her children, Roger Kettl and Gay Nell Rutherford and husband, Cody; sister, Sharon Chambers and husband, Ronnie; brother-in-law, Blake Bourque; grandchildren, Jenni Holden, Jaysen Kettl, and Sara Petrie and husband, Wade; 5 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, especially Kyle Mott, Charlotte Gibson, and Jada Randall, who tenderly cared for her and deeply loved her; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.

Preceding Gaye in death is the love of her life, Charles Lloyd Kettl; her parents; and sisters, Brenda Brumley, Karen Singleton, and Terry Bourque.
