Gay Woods Obituary

Gay Linn Woods, age 81, passed from this life on Sunday, September 8, 2024. He was born in Beaumont, TX on June 3, 1943, to Gay Andrew and Dorothy Lillian Cowart Woods.

A true mechanical genius, Gay Linn had a deep love for cars and could teach anyone just about anything. His remarkable skills and knowledge were matched only by his willingness to help others. He was a constant presence in the lives of his loved ones, always there with an encouraging word or a helping hand. Linn was one of the sharpest people you could ever meet, using his wit and intelligence to support and uplift those around him. He had a passion for music in many forms and collected records. Every night, he enjoyed a bowl of popcorn and always kept Blue Bell ice cream at the ready. If he liked you, he would give you a nickname; if he didn’t, he probably didn’t like you. He was marvelous, constant, and was a source of strength for his loved ones. Linn’s love for his family, friends, and grandchildren was evident in everything he did. Though he is gone, he will forever live on in countless hearts.

Left to honor his memory is his wife, Beverly Woodside Woods; daughters, Kimberly “K.P” Woods and husband, Craig Anderson, and Kristi “Cricket” Manibo and husband, Chris; son, Josh Woods; step-children, Gayla Prisock, Cindy Bumpass, and Mark Woodside; sisters, Nancy Pierce and husband, Charles, and Cherry Jones and husband, Randy; grandchildren, Chad “Lightning” Ford, Brittany “Stinky” Steininger, Erica “Elfie” Jurado, Jacelyn “Pork Chop” Dunigan and husband, C.J., and Jonathan Woods; great-grandchildren, Kaeson, Ryder, Kaden, Stella, Lynlee, and Xavier; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.

Preceding Gay Linn in death are his parents and wife and mother of his children, Paula Woods.

Gay Linn’s life honoring memorial service will be Saturday 14, 2024 at 2:00 p.m at First Baptist Church of Vidor, 350 N Main St, Vidor, TX 77662. His family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Three Oaks Hospice for the exceptional care provided to him.
