Franklin Louis Foux, age 92, of Beaumont, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025. He was born on November 2, 1933, in China, TX, to Valentine and Edith Jagneaux Foux.
Affectionately known as “Pops” to all who were lucky enough to cross his path, he was a man of few words but immeasurable impact, and believed that “If you can’t dazzle them with your brilliance, baffle them with your bs”. Pops was the kind of father, friend, and neighbor everyone felt grateful to have. He was the person you could call at any hour, and he would show up. Family came first, always. A proud United States Marine, Pops served honorably in Korea and embodied the creed once a Marine, always a Marine. His service was woven into who he was, and he carried himself with the quiet confidence of a man who had seen the world, served his country, and kept his honor intact. Pops was also a pilot, flying his own plane and working on helicopters. He was known for cooking the best gumbo around. His favorite music was Cajun, music that fit him perfectly: spirited and rooted in heritage. Pops was a Christian. He lived simply and well, and he will be missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Roger Simons and Robert Nelson and wife, Dot; daughter, Donna Bergeron; daughter in law, Fina Nelson; grandchildren, Beau Nelson, Melanie Gray, Tanda Lutz, Tracie Raley, Joshua Nelson, Tasha Nelson, Sarah Brown, Bailey Knowels, Brandon Thibodeaux, Colton Bergeron, and Bryce Morris; 15 great grandchildren; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.
Preceding Franklin in death are his parents; wife, Frances Mae Foux; son, Willie Nelson; grandson, Robbie Nelson; and 11 siblings.
Franklin's life honoring memorial service will be Saturday, February 21, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at Cowboy Church on the Rock, 13803 US-90, Beaumont, TX 77713. Interment will follow at China Cemetery.
