Fidencia Perez Reyes, also known as Phil, received her angel wings and went to live with the Lord on Wednesday, May 9th, 2018 in Beaumont, Texas. She was born in Thorndale, Texas on November 17th, 1935 to Luis and Sara Perez. She is preceded in death by her husband Jose T. Reyes, brothers Pete Sixto and David Perez, and sister Isabel Perez. She is survived by her son Jose Luis Reyes, grandaughter Maurissa Marie Milligan, grandson Jose Antonio Reyes, great grandson Jesse Wayne Milligan, sisters Rosa Perez Leblanc, Mary Hernandez, Margaret Gonzales, Elaine Perez, brothers Ascension Perez and Julian Perez.

Fidencia Reyes was raised in Slaton, Texas as a part of a large family. She was always a hardworker, which started at an early age. She graduated from Menual High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1958. She returned to Slaton to help with family responsibilites. She married Jose T. Reyes at age 36 and had a son in 1972. Traveling for work brought them to Beaumont, Texas in the late 70s. She was a strong woman who worked a man's job at ARCO refinery for 15 years. She was very active in all church events, putting her faith first. She enjoyed teaching and helping with the children. She was always planting seeds in children she met and watching them grow in faith. She was a woman of great faith who took care of her husband for 21 years through three separate cases of cancer. After his passing, she made it her mission to help visit, pray, and serve any cancer patient she could. She became a grandmother in 1994 and in 1999; then in 2017 she became a great grandmother. She was well loved by all. She loved to cook and bake such great delicacies.

The Bible says we reap what we sow, well she planted a harvest. After about a 10 year fight with dementia, she went to live with the Lord. After 25 years, she is finally reunited with her husband and what a glorious day that was.
