Felton Ray Higginbotham

Mr. Felton Ray Higginbotham, 72, of Beaumont, passed away peacefully with his devoted wife Charlotte and daughter Kindle at his side on Friday, June 12, 2020. Felton was born September 15, 1947 in Longview, TX to Phil Higginbotham and Estelle Brown. One of ten children in a large and boisterous family, Felton grew up in Gladewater, TX and attended Gladewater schools. After school Felton began working for refineries where he would go on to make a career as a superintendent. Perhaps the most momentous and joyful occasion in Felton’s life was meeting and marrying Charlotte, the love of his life who never left his side; the two would spend more than 40 years together building a beautiful life. Felton was a man of simple pleasures when not working and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching a good old western movie, hunting, horseback riding, crabbing, and most especially his time spent fishing—or really baiting the hooks for Kindle so she could fish. The devotion of those closest to Felton really best demonstrates the impact he had on those in his life and he will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Charlotte Irene Higginbotham of Beaumont; his daughters: Stacy Owens and husband Charlie of White Oak, Melissa Land and husband Randy of Ft. Worth, Amanda Ballard and husband Seth of Baytown, and Kindle Higginbotham of Beaumont; his step-son, Rockey Eubanks and wife Mandy of Buffalo; his brother, Bo; his sister, Sue; his 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and of course a host of friends and extended relatives.

Preceding Felton in death are his parents, Phil Higginbotham and Estelle Brown; his brothers: Gene, Raymond, Ruben, Lavon, and Milton; and his sisters: Margaret and Carolyn.

To honor the life of Felton Ray Higginbotham, the family has planned a time of visitation on Monday, June 15, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S. Main St., Lumberton, TX 77657. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S. Main St., Lumberton, TX 77657. Felton will be laid to rest at Morse Cemetery in Buna, TX at 3:45 PM on Tuesday, June 16, 2020.

The family wishes to offer their heartfelt thanks to the staff and doctors at Heart to Heart Hospice for their dedicated and loving care of Felton these last few weeks.
