Ernest Bodmer Obituary

Ernest Reginald “Reggie” Bodmer, age 86, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024. He was born on July 25, 1938 in Poolesville, MD to William Leroy and Kathryn Virginia Ricketts Bodmer.

A loving teacher, he was a faithful guardian to the girls God gave to him: his “Honey”, his daughters, granddaughters, and great-granddaughters. Reggie’s life was a testament to resilience and goodness, weathering numerous trials with unwavering strength and unyielding spirit. He was the lighthouse for his loved ones, guiding them with his steady presence. To his friends, he was a beacon of hope, always ready to lend a helping hand. Everyone knew that in times of need, Reggie was the one to call. He lived life on his own terms, never rushing, and never allowing others to rush him. His tough exterior masked a calming presence and a soft, reassuring force that brought comfort to those around him. Reggie’s exceptional skills as a mechanic earned him the trust of many. His rare ability to diagnose a car’s issues just by listening to its engine made him one of the best in his field. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, strength, and unparalleled expertise will forever be remembered. Though he has left this world, his spirit continues to shine, reunited with his beloved Frances, guiding and protecting those he loved.

Left to honor his memory is his daughter, Regina Sage; siblings, Mary Foster, Dot Himelright, and Joe Bodmer; granddaughters, Monica Adams and husband, Robby, Blair Hughes and husband, Tanner, and Madison Sage; great-granddaughters, Ricki Hughes and Claire Adams; as well as a host of friends, loved ones, and family members.

Preceding him in death are his parents; beloved wife, Frances “Honey” Bodmer; siblings, Eugene Bodmer, Martha Watts and husband, Bob, Charlie Bodmer and wife, Diana; and brother in law, Dave Foster.
