Ernest Louis Arredondo

Ernest “Neto” Louis Arredondo, age 72, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024. He was born on August 8, 1952, in Beaumont, TX, to Eugenio Zapata and Mary Briones Arredondo.

A man of boundless talent and tireless dedication, Ernest was a beloved family man whose heart was deeply intertwined with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. As "Uncle Ernie," he brought joy, mischief, and unforgettable memories into their lives. A passionate collector, Ernest had a fondness for knick-knacks, model cars, and photographs. His keen mind made him a walking encyclopedia, with an impressive recall of details in history, geography, and botany, much of which he learned from his extensive collection of magazines and National Geographic. In the automotive world, Ernest was a legend, known for his exceptional skill in paint and body work. He took immense pride in his craft, earning admiration and respect throughout his career. His service to his country, including a time in Germany, was a source of many fond memories. Ernest's love for music, particularly Southern and Classic Rock, was evident in his trombone playing, both in bands and with friends. His dedication to music mirrored his approach to life, full of passion and joy. Neto's life was a testament to hard work, deep family bonds, and a love for collecting and knowledge. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Left to honor his memory is his mother, Mary B. Arredondo; son, Reuben Arredondo; companion, Angie; brothers, Joe Arredondo, Louis Arredondo, and Alfred Arredondo; sisters, Tina Henslee and husband, Jimmy, Carmen Leddy and husband, Martin, Christine Guerro, and Gloria Vasquez; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and loved ones.

Preceding Neto in death is his father; brothers, Eugene Joseph Arredondo, Jr. and Edward B. Arredondo; and sisters, Cookie Soto, Mary Lydia Arredondo, and Rosie Arredondo.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., at Lumberton Family Funeral Home. Ernie’s life honoring funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 9, 2024, at Lumberton Family Funeral Home.
