Eloise Elizabeth Rosier, age 80, of Lumberton, TX passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023. She was born in Beaumont, TX on November 15, 1942, to Harry Frederick and Eola Guidry Smith.
Strength, she possessed, through the difficulties of physical pain and the struggles of life; and with time her sweet nature grew only sweeter still. She was a good woman and a wonderful mother, and her family never knew her to lose her temper. As a younger woman, riding horses and caring for them was her passion. Eloise was a wonderful cook, with her holiday dinners and banana pudding known for their tastefulness. Though if she had to choose her own meal, it was a cheeseburger and a vanilla shake. She found peace in her faith and knew that she could turn to the scriptures for guidance. She kept her Bible next to her always and read it constantly. To Eloise, moments with her family were the most joyous times. She was “Nanny” to her grandchildren and “Cooter” to her most of her family, but whatever you knew her by, she was loved and will be missed dearly by all that knew her.
Left to honor her memory is her son, Raymond Boyd and wife, Jean, of Ivanhoe, TX; daughter, Sherry Leger, of Kountze, TX; daughter-in-law, Donna Rosier, of Beaumont, TX; brother, Ronnie Smith; sisters, Rebekka “Becky” Tyler, Barabara Ann Smith Farris, and Charly Ramirez and husband, Tommy; grandchildren, Trey LaRocca and wife, Emerald, Sonya Walls, Summer Walls, Hollie Walls, Madison Lewis, and Kristen Loupe, and husband Jesse; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Bentley, Jacelyn, Tyler, Bruce, Levi, Liam, Raelynn, and Micah; cousin, and close friend, Sherry Ferguson; adopted daughter and family friend, Adelia “Dee” Richie; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.
Preceding Eloise in death is her beloved husband, Calvin Rosier; her parents; son, Ray Edward Boyd Jr.; daughter, Toni “Tootie” Rosier; and brother, Harry “Bubba” Smith Jr.
