Mrs. Effie Laverne (Morris) LaRose Pooley, 80, of Orange, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 24, 2021. Effie was born in Orange on Thursday, January 30, 1941, to Melton and Lucy Morris.
Truly a loving and giving woman, Effie devoted most of her life to raising her family. Loving her role as both Mom and Grandma, Effie was always there for her two sons and her ever growing list of grandbabies; from running her boys to practices to loving on all her grandbabies, she was a constant in her families’ lives. Effie was a strong woman capable of raising two boys and always seen as giving and loving by those around her. This sweet and funny woman will leave a void in many lives, and she will not soon be forgotten.
Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Marie Fontenot, her children, Gary LaRose and wife Lori, Kevin LaRose and wife Stacey; her grandchildren, Kyle LaRose, Keith LaRose, Kayla LaRose, Ashley Barfield, and Cody LaRose; her 17 great-grandchildren; her one great-great grandchild: and numerous friends and extended family members over the years.
Effie was preceded in death by her parents, Melton and Lucy Morris; her brother, Melvin Morris; her first husband, Larry LaRose; and her second husband, Donald Pooley.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and CNAs at Vidor Health and Rehab for their loving care.
