Earl Shelton Obituary

Earl Bryant “EB” Shelton, 81, of Lumberton, TX passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.

Born on April 20, 1945, EB lived a life defined by dedication, service, craftsmanship, and a deep love for his family. On June 25, 1972 EB married the love of his life, Frances Bernard Shelton in Cheek, TX. Together they built a strong and loving family that remain the center of his world. EB proudly served his community as a member of the Beaumont Fire Department beginning in 1972. EB rose through the ranks and retired as Deputy Chief after 37 years. His years of service were marked by courage, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to protecting others. The friendships and brotherhood forged through the fires, the after retirement coffee days at The Hard Bean, and the many stories meant more to EB than words can express. Beyond his career, EB was an avid bass fisherman who loved spending time at the lake. He was also a master carpenter whose skillful hands and keen eye for detail created lasting works that will continue to stand as a testament to his talent. Whether on the job or working on projects, he took pride in building things that would endure.

EB is survived by his beloved wife, Frances Shelton; sister, Donna Hollomon and brother Stanley Shelton; his daughters, Staclyn Montgomery, Robyn Heitkamp, Stephanie Spaugh, Sharla Shelton and honorary daughter, Chelsea Bernard Miller; his cherished grandchildren, Taylor, Ben, Sarah, Katie, Sophie, Damian and Tina and honorary grandsons Caymon and Derien; his 6 great grandchildren; and a host of family, friends, and loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ottis and Earline Shelton.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his service and the love he gave so freely to his family and friends.

EB's celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, beginning at 1:00 p.m., at the Fire Museum of Texas, 400 Walnut St. Beaumont, TX 77701.
