Doyle "Eddie" Perry Obituary

Doyle Edward “Eddie” Perry, age 76, of Vidor, TX, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, after battling several health issues.

Doyle was born in Lubbock, TX, on March 29, 1948, to Thomas Truman and Mildred Riggs Perry. After acclimating to southeast Texas, the family settled in Vidor, TX. Doyle married his high school sweetheart, Louise Arthur, on June 6, 1968. They have two daughters, Elisha R. Fore and Mildred “Milli” Malmberg.

Doyle enjoyed working in the 2-year-old Sunday School class at Pine Forest Baptist Church for 15 years with his co-teacher, Linda Watson. He was involved in the church’s bus ministry for almost a decade. He and Louise were on several committees that involved the church kitchen: Hospitality, Spirit of Hope, Benevolence; also, for VBS, Listen to the Lights family nights, and church-wife meals. Doyle was known as the “tea and coffee maker”. Doyle was a life-time member of the YMBL. He thoroughly enjoyed working the fair gates. In recent years, he and Louise had volunteered at Bikes and Bibles, too. Doyle enjoyed playing dominoes at church on Tuesday nights and on the first Friday of the month.

Doyle was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Truman Perry; brothers, Truman E. Perry and Joe D. Perry; and sister, Mary E. Linscomb.

He is survived by his wife, Louise; daughters, Elisha Fore of Kountze and Milli Malmberg and husband, Kevin, of Vidor; his mother, Mildred Perry of Vidor; sister, Patricia Lawrence of Vidor; grandchildren who lovingly knew him as “Popi”, Trisha Phillips, Brittany Hock and husband, Scott, Victoria Powell and husband, R.J., Kerra Fore, Amethyst Guin, Melody Hinson, and Stephen Malmberg; great granddaughter, Emillie Guin; great grandsons, Bryson and Casen Powell, Dakota Davenport and Robert “Bobby” Powell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
