Dorothy Mae Petrucci, age 94, of Vidor, TX, was born on September 16, 1929, in Beaumont, TX, to Hyman Chester Block and Alva Thompson Block, and went into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ, at home surrounded by her family, on Friday, November 10, 2023.
She believed and obeyed the beautiful plan of salvation (Acts 2:38), Repentance, baptism in Jesus name with the infilling of the Holy Ghost. She cherished the Word of God. Her two favorite scriptures were Psalms 51-10, “Create in me a clean heart o God; and renew a right spirit within me.” And Jeremiah 32:27 “Behold I am the Lord, the God of all flesh, is there anything too hard for me?”. She fearfully and faithfully followed the “old paths”, living a godly life. She had style and loved to wear beautiful scarves. She had a collection of over 100 to match any outfit. She was a cheerful giver of her money, time, and talents. She was a member of Eastgate UPC for over 68 years. She taught Sunday School and was dedicated to the nursing home ministry. In her later years, the Lord gave her a card ministry, sending cards full of encouragement and genuine love to the sick, grieving, and discouraged. She was honest beyond measure, with a giving heart, and helped people with monetary needs, food, and emotional support. She was eager to share her excellent cooking and sewing skills. She was a prayer warrior and an example to family, friends, and strangers alike. She was a humble soul making an impression on everyone she met. She was witty and her smile would light up the room.
She leaves a legacy that all will cherish and remember. She leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews that she loved dearly and prayed for daily. She will be missed but she is in the arms of the Lily of the Valley, the Sweet Rose of Sharon, Her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Psalms 116:15- "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints."
