Diana Worry Obituary

Diana Lynn Worry, age 68, of Lumberton, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. She was born in Beaumont, TX, on December 06, 1954, to Fred Edward and Betty Pittman Holton.

There was harmony within her, for in her heart was peace and a desire to express who she was to others. Diana was intentional and precise, always wanting to encourage others and finding ways to edify and live for those she cared about. Protective, loyal, and sensitive to the small things, Diana was the linchpin, of her family first, and then to the wider circle that she lovingly welcomed. She was a proud mother and became a motherly figure for many others; she was honest, often direct and truthful, but always fair and comforting; and she was faithful, pouring herself into all that she did, going above and beyond. When she became a grandmother, she became “Mammy”, and “Mammy” was no run of the mill grandmother or great-grandmother, for this was Diana. As a Christian, she loved the Lord and devoted herself to wherever she was needed at her church home, Journey Community Church. Her passion for gardening was not limited to hobby, because Diana had inherited the green thumb of her family. Countless hours were spent in her garden and with her flowers, with the occasional helper being enticed or drafted for “outdoor activities”. She was loyal to her career at ExxonMobil and applied her detailed and hardworking nature to her job, becoming loved and intensely respected by her coworkers. Diana never liked to leave others with “goodbye”, instead expressing “Love you and later”. She was special; she was unique. Her memory, her heart, her character, all that composed and defined this special lady, mother, “Mammy”, daughter, sister, and friend, will be forever cherished by those she touched while on this Earth.

Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Betty Holton, of Lumberton, TX; son, Kade Worry and wife, Jennifer, of Kountze, TX; daughter, LaKeitha Worry of Lumberton, TX; brothers, Edward Holton and wife, Jody and David Holton and wife, Debbie; sister, Anita Bell and husband, Trace; grandchildren, Tori Harbin, and Keely Ozio; great-grandchildren, Aurora, Levi, Faith, and Kru; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.

Preceding Diana in death is her father.

If you would like to make a donation in lieu of flowers, the family asks you to honor Diana through the Foster Care Closet Ministry and the  Uganda Orphan Care Ministry at Journey Community Church.
