Denise White Obituary

July 26, 1951 - July 1, 2021

Denise was born in Beaumont, Texas on July 26, 1951 to Myrtle Florine (Sanders) and Jimmie Curtis Wade.  She shared her birthday and is survived by her twin brother Dennis Wade and his wife Norma.

She is also survived by her brother Curtis Wade and wife Sue; sisters Toni Holst and husband Wesley; Joni Newton and husband Jeff, and sister in law Margaret Wade; stepbrother Lamar Pruitt and wife Buffy; stepsister Loretta Pruitt; also her daughter Angie and husband Chris Wood, and her son Anthony Messina and partner Jennifer. Her grandchildren Alia Messina, Athena Messina, Alexis Molina and husband Ray, Ares Messina, Austin Wood, Tyler Wood and Ashley Wood, as well as five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents Myrtle Wade Pruitt and Jimmie Wade, and her precious brother Donnie Wade,

Denise was full of life and had a wonderful sense of humor. Many hours of laughter were had with her family and siblings thru the years.  Denise followed in her mothers footsteps and became an excellent cook. She was happy to whip up something special to eat for all her visiting  guests and for every family gathering.

She loved her children and grandchildren greatly and was so proud of their accomplishments in life. When her children were young, she sewed for hours on their Easter, Christmas, and Halloween outfits and created fabulous ballet and jazz recital costumes for her daughter Angela, She was loyal to share her son Anthony's love for baseball by sitting on the sidelines cheering him on. As each of her grandchildren were born, she was overwhelmed with joy and adoration for each of them.  Denise had a natural love for babies and children. She could hardly pass a stranger holding an infant without stopping to get an adoring look at their little one. Denise became a RN in her thirties and worked at St Elizabeth Hospital in labor and delivery, later working at a surgical center in Houston, and served in other areas in the nursing field.

The greatest moments in her life were when she was filled with the Spirit of the Lord; she asked the Lord for forgiveness and was baptized in Jesus Name. She had a remarkable experience and her thankfulness to the Lord never left her.

After her recent major stroke, her sister Joni was praying over her at her bedside and whispered to Denise that Jesus would never leave her or forsake her.  In Denise's very compromised health, she found the strength to lightly whisper "I believe".  Truly her heart belonged to the Lord.

Our heartfelt gratitude is sent to our wonderful family, friends, and her beloved South Park Greenies for all their love and kindness through the years.

Deepest thanks is sent to the entire staff at Silsbee Oaks Health Care for their beautiful and tender care towards our sweet sister Denise.  Only God can adequately return those blessings to you all, and we know He will.
