Debbie Lee Walters

Debbie Lee Walters, age 69, of China, TX, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025. She was born on December 15, 1955, in Tacoma, WA, to Robert and Lourdes Quiroum Gamble.

Lively and adventurous, Debbie lived her life with an energy that was remarkable. She was always ready with a joke that never lost its charm, no matter how many times she told it. A hippie down to the bone, she carried the spirit of a true flower child, embracing creativity, individuality, and the beauty found in the simplest things. Her hands were always busy with a new endeavor, whether it was sewing, baking (but not cooking), crocheting, or crafting something entirely unique. Every project she took on was imbued with love, and each family member was gifted something special, a tangible piece of her creativity and care. Debbie believed that art was not just a pastime but a way to express love, a way to bring joy to others in the form of handmade treasures. Strong-willed and scrappy, Debbie never backed down from a challenge. She was a fighter, fearless and fiercely independent, taking life head-on with a determined spirit that inspired those around her and struck fear into the hearts of unsuspecting participants in her practice maneuvers. She married the love of her life, John, on February 5, 1982, and together they shared years filled with laughter, adventure, and a deep, unwavering bond. A collector at heart, Debbie surrounded herself with angels and an eclectic mix of things. She saw significance in the small moments and the little treasures life had to offer. And through it all, she remained unshaken, undaunted by anything the world threw her way. Debbie will be remembered not only for the vibrant life she led but for the lasting imprint she left on the hearts of her family and friends. Her spirit, bold, creative, and full of love, lives on in the memories that will never fade.

Left to honor her memory is her husband, John Walters; sons, Robert Bertrand and Matthew Walters and wife, Jennifer; daughters, Tina Bertrand, Heather Aragon and husband, Nathan, Stephanie Dietz and husband, Tim, Michelle Walters, and Melanie Macias and husband, Brian; brother, Robert L. Gamble Jr. and wife, Judy K.; sister, Elizabeth Querubin Minner; sister in law, Jonan Gamble; 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; as well as a host of friends and loved ones.

Preceding Debbie in death are her parents, and brother, David Lee Gamble.
