David Wayne Rutledge Sr.

David Wayne Rutledge Sr., age 71, a longtime resident of Vidor, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024. He was born in Vidor, Texas, on October 15, 1952, to Abner Walter Rutledge Sr. and Emma Jean Ward.

David was known for his passionate hobbies, such as collecting cars and eagles, and his enthusiasm for playing board games and Dungeons & Dragons, often bringing joy and laughter to gatherings. Above all, David's love for his family was the cornerstone of his life. His kindness, humor, and unwavering support will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, David Wayne Rutledge Jr.; daughter, Athena Shettlesworth and husband Ronnie; sister, Rebecca Sue Bridges and husband Joe; grandchildren, Ronald Shettlesworth and wife Kaitlin, Daniel Shettlesworth, and Ruthie Shettlesworth; 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Preceding David in death are his parents and older brother, Abner Walter Rutledge Jr.
