David Allen Obituary

Dwight David Allen, age 70, of Lumberton, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026. He was born on November 29, 1955, in Kountze, TX.

Born and raised in Loeb, he grew into a man who was as well-known and well loved, someone whose presence filled a room. He was the life of every party and an excellent dancer. He loved his family with a deep, unmistakable love. He was caring and one of a kind, fun and a bit of a cut up. He could be hard at times, but he loved hard too. David was an outdoorsman through and through. He worked hard, took pride in doing every job right, and found peace in nature. He was a gardener, a hunter, and a teacher, passing down skills to his children and grandchildren. Many learned to hunt or paint from him. He was protective, fierce and never afraid to put the fear of God in someone if the moment called for it. Yet he spoke often of forgiveness and the Lord. His faith was steady and sincere. He loved Jesus, loved sharing that love with his family, and found comfort in watching stories of faith, especially The Chosen, which brought the lives of Jesus and the Apostles to life in a way that moved him deeply. And when he wasn’t watching that, the Western channel was almost always on. David’s family and friends will remember him as a man who worked hard, played hard, and loved with everything he had.
