Courtney Rene' (Ramsey) Griggs

Courtney Rene’ Griggs, 45, of Newton, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024.  She was born in Orange, TX, on October 02, 1978, to her parents Robert Lee Ramsey and Carolyn Reeves.

Courtney loved life; you would never know when she was feeling down. She loved all the things; lady bugs, frogs, sunflowers, cheerleading, cooking! (especially shepherd’s pie and her buttermilk pie)  She loved being mom and grandmother; and was the best mom that she could be. Courtney will be missed by all of those she loved, and they will never forget what she used to say: “Love y’all around the world and back again, through the stars, all the way to Mars!”

Left to honor her memory are her mother; sons, Daryl Cannon Griggs Jr. and Cody Gordy; daughters, Laura Rene’ Griggs, Kayla Mae Griggs, and Shelbie Perry and husband Bryce; brother, Bobby Ramsey; sister, Tonjia Ramsey; beloved partner, Brian Gordy; grandchildren, Ryder Gordy, Caysen Gordy, Addison Perry, Azlyn Bourque; mother-in-law Judy Griggs; and many extended family members, friends, and loved ones.

Preceding her in death are her father; and her father-in-law, Hughey Griggs.
