Corina Jona Parker

Corina Jona Parker, age 58, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, in Kountze, Texas. Corina was born on April 30, 1966, in Karlsruhe, Germany, to Tommy and Erika Parker. 

A devoted and beloved individual whose heart was full of faith and love, Corina was innately beautiful of heart and soul. Born and raised in Germany, she moved to Jasper, TX with her family in 1972, where she grew and came to be a blessing to all who knew her. She graduated from Jasper High School in 1984. Her life was marked by her unwavering devotion, not just to her family and pets, but most importantly, to the Lord. Corina’s dedication to her faith was evident in her daily readings of the scriptures, frequent prayers, and her passion for speaking to others about the Lord. At the age of 16, she welcomed her first cat into her life, sparking a lifelong love and devotion to caring for both her own pets and stray animals. This earned her the affectionate title of "The Cat Lady of Kountze." A true fighter, Corina faced cancer six times, yet her faith remained unshaken. She shared a profound bond with her family, especially her sister, Terri. Corina’s love for sweets was well known; she had a fondness for just about anything with sugar. Her legacy of faith, love, and resilience will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her final words, a call to her Savior, "Jesus help me," reflect the depth of her devotion and the strength of her spirit. Though she has finished her journey on this Earth, the blessing and spirit that defined Corina will forever remain in many hearts, and she will be deeply missed.

Left to honor her memory are her parents; sister, Terri Parker Walters and husband, Greg; brother, Anthony (Andy) Parker; niece, Brittney Rector and husband, Hunter; nephew, Cole Walters; great-niece, Parker Jane Rector; great-nephew, Brody Rector; her beloved cat, Toby; and a host of friends and loved ones.
