Clytie J (Johnson) Crawford

Clytie Jean Crawford, beloved wife, mother, and devoted servant of Christ, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on August 14, 1930, to Eugene Johnson and Mertie Marler Johnson, Clytie lived a life marked by love, faith, and unwavering determination.

On June 4, 1953, she married her cherished husband, Donald Crawford, a wonderful man whom she considered a rare blessing. As a pastor’s wife, she embraced her role with grace and strength, offering kindness and wisdom to all who knew her. Clytie was a homemaker in the truest sense, creating a warm and welcoming space for family and friends, filling it with laughter, faith, and the aroma of her exceptional cooking.

Her faith was the guiding force in her life. She knew her Bible intimately, always ready with the perfect verse for any situation. A devoted Christian, she was actively involved in her church, dedicating her time and energy to serving her community. Clytie’s assertiveness and strong will were matched by her boundless generosity and compassion.

She found joy in shopping, dining out, and sharing special moments with loved ones. Through every stage of life, she remained steadfast in her belief, uplifting those around her with encouragement and wisdom.

Clytie leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and resilience; an inspiration to all who were blessed to know her. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

Left to honor her memory is her daughter, Jean Martin and husband, John; granddaughter, Kimberly Loftis; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.

Clytie is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Reverand Donald Crawford; and sister, Barbara Jane Mitchell.
