Clara Jean Wheat

Clara Jean Wheat, age 84, of Vidor, TX, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 23, 2024. She was born on February 10, 1940, in Woodville, TX, to August Frederick Okun and Clara Dora Buck.

Clara’s selflessness knew no bounds, as she always put the needs of her family and loved ones above her own. She was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, a cherished grandmother, and a loyal friend. She leaves behind a loving family who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Her children will miss her guidance and unconditional love, her grandchildren and great grandchildren will miss her stories and warm hugs, and her friends will miss her infectious smile and unwavering support. Her journey on this earth may have come to an end, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Calvin Ray Wheat and wife Rene’; daughter, Charla Jean Broussard; grandchildren, T.J. Wheat, Olivia Spradley, Sheena Wilburn, Matthew Wheat and wife Lacey, D’Anna Bragg and husband Andy, Kaitlyn Lebel and husband Chris; and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ralph Wheat; her parents; son, Odie Wheat; and 10 brothers and sisters.

As we bid farewell to a beloved mother Thursday, March 28th at Pine Forest Baptist Church chapel in North Vidor, let us take solace in knowing that she is now at peace, surrounded by love and light. May her soul rest in eternal peace at Whitehouse Cemetery in Lufkin, TX, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
