Cindy Lou Marston

Cindy Lou Marston, age 75, of Kountze, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. She was born on March 21, 1950, in Ainsworth, NE, to Everett and Wilma Brown.

Born and raised on a farm in Nebraska, she carried the heart of a country girl with her wherever she went. At around 18, she made the move to Texas to be closer to family in Houston, beginning a new chapter that would shape the rest of her life. Cindy had a gift for making others feel cared for. She was funny, loving, and endlessly compassionate. Family was very important to her, and she showed that love through action, especially in the way she cared for her sister, Lilly, until Lilly’s passing. Her home was always filled with comfort, welcoming, and a good meal. In 1984, while working at a café in Vidor, fate brought Kenneth into her life. He stopped in for coffee, and soon those simple visits became something more. Their connection grew naturally and warmly. After years of building a life together, they married on December 2, 1996. They remained inseparable, partners in every sense, until her final day. Kenneth introduced her to professional hockey, and together they cheered for the Boston Bruins and the Florida Panthers. Her talents were many. She played the organ, guitar, and accordion with ease, and her singing voice was beautiful. Of all her roles, “Nanny” was one she cherished most. Her grandchildren were her pride and brought her heart joy. She never let them leave without her signature farewell, words that captured her love perfectly: “I love, love, love you.”  Though she is gone, she will be remembered always, and her love will continue to linger in many hearts.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Kenneth Marston; son, Bryan Millard; daughter, Paula Guy and husband, George; brother, Everett Brown and wife, Dorothy; grandchildren, Michael Millard, Landon Millard, Matt Guy and wife, Christina, and Ross Lene; sisters in law, Jan Brown and Susan Brown; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.

Preceding Cindy in death are her parents; son, Robert Millard; brothers, Glen Brown, Ivan Brown and Elden Brown; and sisters, Viola Brown, Lillie Brown, Maxine Brown, and Betty Brown,
