Christopher Jacob Redding, 41, passed from this life on Sunday, February 9, 2020. He was born to Michael Redding and Susan (Tanner) Phillips on June 22, 1978 in Beaumont TX.
Chris was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. Family came first, he always wanted to be a husband and father and found that with the love of his life Becky. Being a father and grandfather gave him the greatest joy and completed him. He loved to travel and visited and lived in many places, he was his dads travel buddy and loved to go anywhere his dad went. Chris enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and camping- especially in the cooler months where he could build bonfires and cook for friends and family. He would create and experiment with a variety of exotic and spicy foods where he could introduce everyone to many food experiences. Chris was always one to jump in to help others and take care of his friends and family especially his mom. Music was a passion of his; he created while behind the scenes with his gifted audio visual talents to create the most amazing shows. Chris was fortunate to be welcomed to the Pride of Bedlam family and was proud to be their sound engineer. Texas Renaissance festival wasn’t just a fun place to go, it was a way of life for him and his family. A Pirates Life For Me!
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Rebecca (Green) Redding; father, Michael Redding and step-mother Victiora Redding; mother, Susan Phillips; father-in-law, Bob Green; son, Cameren Newton; daughters, Carmen Newton, and Ashley Byars, and husband Austin Byarsp; brother, Nicholas Redding, and wife April Boazman; sisters, Angellia Moore, and husband Joey Leslie, Kimberly Kiker and husband Gary Kiker, Amanda Franklin and husband Dalan Fricano; granddaughters, Audi Byars, Amelia Byars; nieces, Sophie Rothermel, Grace Kiker and Lillie Kiker; nephews, Zane Leslie, Jack Leslie, Tyson Kiker, Ethan Cash, Luke Redding, Russell Allen, and countless other dear friends and family members.
Preceding Chris in death by his step-mother, Linda Redding and his brother Bryan Micheal Redding.
To honor Christopher's life, a visitation will be Saturday, February 15, 2020, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S. Main, Lumberton, TX 77657. A memorial service will follow, and begin at 3:00 PM. In lieu of cut flowers and potted plants, the family is requesting potted roses and and vegetable garden plants only.
