Charlie Maddox Sr. Obituary

Mr. Charles "Charlie" Ray Maddox Sr., 63, of Vidor, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021. Charlie was born in Beaumont on August 1, 1958, to John and Erma Maddox.

Charlie was a man who knew what it meant to work hard and play harder. Charlie loved his family and friends above all else. This simple but kind-hearted man was married to Mammie Brown Maddox for 37 years, building a beautiful life and family with her over their lives together. After her passing Charlie was blessed to find a second love in his life with his wife Angela Phillips Maddox, whom he had almost 4 years of life and love with. If you knew Charlie, you knew he just wanted to make sure everyone around him was ok. This absolutely was a tenant of his work ethic in life as well. Charlie spent more than 40 years of his life working with trees and helping those around him. His legacy of hard work and his willingness to share his knowledge and time with those he loved will not soon be forgotten. While he has been taken from us too soon, it is a small comfort that Charlie passed while working with some of the people he cared for most and doing what he loved.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Angela Phillips Maddox of Vidor; his children, Charles Ray Maddox Jr. of Vidor, Jessie Maddox of Vidor, James Maddox of Vidor, Amie Huffman of Florida, Crystal Maddox and husband Kenneth Ryan Sr. of Vidor; his sister, Evelyn Maddox; his grandchildren, Peyton Maddox, Jessie Maddox, Pamela Maddox, Zachary Maddox, Michael Maddox, Grady Maddox, Paige Maddox, Shaun Maddox, Timothy Hoosier, Samantha Hoosier, Kenneth Ryan Jr., and Charles Ryan, as well as lots of friends, beloved co-workers, and extended family.

Charlie was preceded in death by parents, his wife, Mamie Brown Maddox; his 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jay Butts, David Smith, Kenneth Ryan Sr., Randy Walton, James Maddox, and Charlie Maddox Jr.
