Cecile Eatherly Obituary

Mrs. Cecile D. Eatherly, 85, of Lumberton, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020.

Cecile was born on November 13, 1934 in Beaumont, TX to Mitchel and Elizabeth Decuir. Anyone that was in conversation with her for more than 5 minutes could tell that Cecile was the life of the party and could bring joy to any situation. With her crazy sense of humor, sweet soul, and open ears to anyone who needed a good listener-she showed love and kindness to all she knew as she never met a stranger. The things that took up the most room in her heart were her family, including her church family, her nieces and nephew, and her faith. One of the things she was known for was living her life to the fullest which included traveling whenever she had the chance, Cecile loved to go places. Cecile also had a special interest, and talent in fine arts and enjoyed using watercolors and sculpting. Her joyful spirit will be remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her brothers, Wilton Decuir and wife Patsy Elliot of Palm Beach, FL, Glenn Decuir and wife Mary of Moss Hill, LA, Merlin Decuir and wife Dianna of The Villages, FL; sister, Orelia Robbins and husband James of Lumberton, TX; sister-in-law, Lee Decuir of Kerrville, TX; as well as numerous nieces and one nephew, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, with countless friends and loved ones.

Cecile is preceded in death by her parents, Mitchel and Elizabeth Decuir; brother, Artie Paul Decuir.
