Carolyn Sue (Schoolcraft) Jones

Mrs. Carolyn Sue Jones, 52, of Lumberton, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020. Carolyn was born March 24, 1968 in Muleshoe, TX to Charles Stewart Schoolcraft and Evelyn Allen Brown as one of five children.

A life long Southeast Texas resident, Carolyn was an extremely spirited woman who embodied the meaning of easy going. Perhaps it was Carolyn’s infectious giggle that caught the eye of Jeffrey Jones, the loving husband and devoted partner that Carolyn happily spent the last 8 years with, or maybe it was the clear kind heart that shone out to all who knew her, but anyone who saw Carolyn and Jeffrey knew them to be an idyllic example of a true partnership. Carolyn worked for many years at Star Bowling Alley in Beaumont, TX which made going to work a thing of joy for Carolyn an avid bowler, and she deeply loved her work family. A fiercely loving woman, family was the center of Carolyn’s world, and she deeply loved her children and grandchildren, and proudly accepted the title of “Cool Aunt” from her many nieces and nephews, always ready to tackle any activity or challenge with them. Carolyn’s hobbies varied from her beloved bowling to candle making and playing chicken foot with friends and family, but regardless of the activity Carolyn was always a bright spot and welcome addition to every place she went. The loss of this giggle and love from this vivacious woman will not soon be forgotten.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Jeffrey Jones; her children, Michael Cain and wife Jay of New Mexico and Patrick Cain of Lumberton, TX; her step children, Michael Jones and wife Kortney of Buna, TX, Wendy Fraizer and husband Brent of Silsbee, TX, Jon Wesley Lagoy of Silsbee, TX, Danny Jones and wife Brande of Buna, TX; her siblings, Marty Belt of Driftwood, TX, Nancy Borque of Las Vegas, NV, Wesley Schoolcraft of Silsbee, TX, Jason Schoolcraft of Beaumont, TX; her grandchildren, Lilly Cain, Hensley Danielle Jones, Roman Michael Jones, Sara White, Matthew White, Blake White and Ryan Jones; as well as numerous extended family and friends.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Schoolcraft and Evelyn Brown.

To honor Carolyn’s life the family plans a time of visitation on Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S. Main St., Lumberton, TX 77657.
