Carl Raymond Cude Jr., 89, of Lumberton passed away at home on Monday, December 28, 2020 with his beloved wife beside him.
Born April 22, 1931 to Carl Raymond Cude Sr., and Fannie Mae Crowell Cude in San Antonio, Texas, he was definitely born to be a Texan. Passionate about most things outdoors, Carl loved to fish and hunt. During a chance trip to Louisiana for work, Carl met his wife through a mutual friend and after 3 years of dating, Carl and Sussie married in Orange, Texas. Carl and Sussie went on to spend the next 48 years married. During this life-long marriage, Carl and Sussie had three children and three stepchildren. Carl was also local business owner and well-known man in the community always ready to help the local charities and donate to local causes whenever able. He loved football, especially his Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints and when not enjoying the football season might be spending time in another favorite role of his, “Pops” to his grandbabies. However you knew Carl, you were lucky to have met him, and he will be deeply missed.
Carl leaves behind his beloved wife Sussie Yvonne Cude; his children and step-children, Gary Lynn Cude, Bennett Ray Cude, Debra Ann Cude Dunn, Craig Kevin Wilson, Rhonda Colleen Wilson, and Marsha Willson Bass; his sisters, Maybeth Snope and Judy Mumme and husband Ron; his grandchildren, Emory Dunn, Bailey Cude, Keith Bass and wife Amanda, Christopher Wilson, Kaegan Bass Brown and husband Justin; and his great-grandchildren, Kysen Bass, Rusty Wilson, Cadence Bass, Gayvn Wilson, Lukas Bass, Alayla Wilson, London Bass, Christopher Wilson Jr., and Elias Bass.
Carl is preceded in death by his parents Carl Raymond Cude Sr. and Fannie Mae Crowell.
To honor Carl’s life, a time of Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Grace Church, 1130 Hwy 69, Kountze, TX 77625, with Funeral Services to follow at 12:30 PM. Carl will be laid to rest at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Sour Lake following funeral services.
